Transfer text message history to Android ?

I can't find a way to transfer my text messages to my recently acquired Galaxy S9. If anyone has a solution, I would really appreciate any advice.

Hi! To answer your question, no. Currently, there is no way to transfer text messages from WP to another os. Pictures, files, music, and other basic things are able to transfer, though. Sorry about that.

Yes, there is a way. It's a process that involves an app on your Windows phone (WP Message Backup). An SD card is required on both phones so if one or the other doesn't have one then it becomes very complicated. The next step involves an app for your Android that will convert the backup from your Windows phone to xml for Android. I've used Titanium and Super Backup & Restore. To do the file conversion you need the paid app (sorry, them's the breaks). The WP app works perfectly and your MMS pictures get transferred too.

Follow the instructions to the letter and it works perfectly. I switch phones all the time.

I have the WP Message Backup app on my PC, but is it better to use it on my 950 instead?
Also, just to confirm, it's the WP message backup that I need to pay for full functionality but the required Android apps are free?

The WP app is free and it has to be used on the phone. The Android apps are paid apps. There is no interaction with your PC. You back up your 950 to a folder on your SD card and then put the card in your Android. The app will find the folder and convert the files. Depending on how many pictures are in your MMS, it usually takes a good 10 minutes unless you're like me that has hundreds of pictures. In my case it takes about 20 minutes to re-populate MMS on Android.

The app is free but only for 100 messages. Both the mobile and PC version charge $5.49 for unlimited messages.

Search for "python sms" and select second thread (android WC app does not simply 'paste')
All SMSes can be transferred but unfortunatelly no MMSes
