Trust me! Google app in windows phone is awesome

does it do that Google Now card stuff like the iOS app does?

Aint sure but it does give u refined and faster search results than Cortana! Also the links open in the app itself in the readable format unlike Cortana that opens up browser

At the downside of me having to use google,I'm good with Cortana.

I don't mind that it opens up in the browser as I often times want the full page.

Ain't crucifying Cortana with this. But google as an app in windows phone is far better than MS apps on its own platform.

Has not been updated since November of 2013.

I see a lot of poor reviews in there. It may very well be region dependent on which gives better results.

I do have a couple of questions though. It shows a sign in as a screen cap, do you need to sign into a Google Account to use it? How long have you used it? Can you give us some side by side screen caps to compare?

Not really considering I use Cortana all over windows phone and Windows desktop so google app is irrelevant since I don't use google. For others perhaps it is better.

?
Poor rreview are probably due to the hatred we have on google for not giving us their apps and probably for removing the YouTube app MS had made for WP.

Wrong! Google app has been updated very recently with voice commands. I.e in 2015 and it actually listens good and gives you accurate results

Check the App in the store, please, for last update date stamp. We may be looking at something different...

Again:
Do you need to sign into a Google Account to use the App? (Not happening for me, I have no Google Accounts and do not plan on starting any)
How long have you used it? (I'm curious what is the basis for so strenuous a recommend with no real details or reasons provided)
Will you do any side by side comparisons with screen shots to help illustrate?

Nope.

This is a pretty nice search app actually, which opens instantly!
Basically, if you live outside those countries where bing is usable, this is the best choice.
The voice search is actually on par with the experience on Android. This means that I can speak in my native language and understand every single word with result that are actually relevant to me (my location).

The search results open inside the app and you can open them in Edge/IE.
Definitely worth trying!

I guess Cortana may not be good in some countries outside of US (or English speaking).

For me, Cortana is amazing and understands everything I say. She provide useful relevant information and does what I ask her to.

I haven't used the Google app on Windows at all. It just seems incomplete without the rest of the Google apps being on Windows, and frankly annoying.
