I just got home with the red Lumia 920, and I use ST. I set up everything, but the MMS didn't work. I found the answer here. I love this place.

Kinda of unrelated but I saw a video of a guy setting up the apn settings for the samsung galaxy note for ST and he says by not putting in proxy they don't throttle you he said he leaves it blank , and he's used 5 gb and they have never slowed him down, don't know if this applies to every phone,but someone should try that out , I use so little data only 80-100mb a month so someone else should try it.

I would recommend not getting those phones well for sure not the focus I just got a brand new focus mms will not work unless your a super commuter wiz and can like root and kinda of crazy stuff , and also the focus has windows 7 which does not let you access the marketplace, you have to be updated to windows 7.5 to get apps and games, iv tried to update like it says but it's a no go iv spent 3 hours trying to update to 7.5 with the Zune software n the pc always get an error code and won't update and its an error code that is not listed , iv tried every suggestion iv read still won't work iv chatted with Zune /Microsoft and they tried everything , so I'm stuck with a phone that I ant do much other then call and text check email not having any apps is killing me , so I recommend you get a phone that already has windows 7.5 like the focus s or htc titan 2 and it sucks cuz the phone is beautiful and it is brand spanking new from eBay for only 144.

If you're looking for a new phone, I'd definitely recommend the Lumia 920.
As this thread is specifically for the 920 (Trying Straight Talk w my 920) it really isn't the best place to go on, and on, about other phones or 7.5

General consensus for a while has been that StraightTalk gives you about 2GB/mth or approx 200MB/day of unthrottled data.These are approximates and YMMV.

I stream TuneIn Radio every day and watch plenty of youtube vids via links people post on FB or twitter and I've never been throttled.

I've heard that if you go over these limits in a consistent manner you'll get a call from a CS rep warning you if you continue you will get cut off. If you ignore this then they will cut you off without further notice and you then lose your phone number with NO way to get it back.

Been using ST for over a year now with ZERO problems - you just can't beat the price if you're not a super power user that needs LTE.

And regarding AT&T selling you an off contract phone - there should be absolutely ZERO requirement for you to sign up for service with them - you're paying full retail price for the phone. Again, YMMV and it seems some stores a PITA about this and others not.

So I've read about a couple software updates for the 920 from Nokia. Yesterday was something about the camera, improving the white balance or something. Now there's an update to boost bluetooth and enhance battery management. The Yahoo article says " Nokia says that this update is only available to customers of AT&T and Canadian wireless carrier Rogers so far,... " So I'm wondering if Straight Talk users are getting any of these updates, or if not getting timely updates is a drawback to using ST?

Hi guys,

I just made the switch from Sprint/android to my 920 and I'm loving it. I set up Straight Talk last night and it is working great so far. The apn setup was definitely easier thanks to this forum!

One question, does anyone know how to set the time/rings before switching over to voicemail? I have google voice transcribing messages from this number, and I want to make sure GV picks up and not my Straight Talk box.

AT&T and T-Mobile both use the same method, which lets you change the number of rings right from your phone. To do it:

Dial *#61# from your phone. Tap Send.
You should see a new screen that displays a bunch of information about what's getting forwarded. You should see a line under "Voice Call Forwarding" that says "Forwards to +11234567890" (where 11234567890 is an eleven digit phone number, likely different from your phone number). Write down this number and tap Dismiss.
Now, dial **61*+11234567890*11*XX# and hit Send, where 11234567890 is the number that you found in step two and XX is the number of seconds you want to wait until voicemail picks up. You can set it in increments of 5, where 30 seconds is the maximum.

It really depends where your at in the country. For me TMobile works great in the places I go on my Dell Venue Pro but then again I am in the Philadelphia PA area. I just waiting for the ability to get the unlock for the 920 which seems to be around May from what I read in other posts.

-Phone is a CDMA (i.e. Verizon, Sprint, Metro PCS), TracFone, SafeLink, NET10, Straight Talk, Telcel America or BlackBerry
-Unlocked GSM Phone (Phone must operate in 850 and 1900 MHz bands)
-T-Mobile Compatible Phone

Will any of these options work with an AT&T locked Nokia 920?

I'm not certain this is correct. The phone is locked, and that SIM is for an unlocked GSM-compatible phone. I believe that ST has lost its contract rights to offer AT&T-compatible SIM cards, either permanently or temporarily. Check at your local Wal Mart for legacy cards while they're still in supply. If ST is able to renegotiate a contract with AT&T, the cards will be offered later (potentially at a higher price).

A locked AT&T phone will work on Straight Talk since it uses the AT&T network. Do you have a link saying Straight Talk lost it's contract rights to use the AT&T networ?

Thats the exact wording that was on the website when I purchased my ST SIM, and it's worked perfectly in my locked Focus S.

And don't post claims like that unless you can back it up

Given the size of the ST market and the recency of the news, it hasn't been widely covered. Until we hear from Straight Talk directly, its just speculation, but I wouldn't reccomend anybody cancel contracts, etcetera to try a SIM card that isn't for locked AT&T phones. The Focus S may not be locked to AT&T, idunno. Just trying to save the guy problems later before he shells out the cash for a SIM card that doesn't work (at the least).

So, I have a Lumia 920 on ST. I've had it for about 4 days now. I absolutely love it and everything working great, except for the MMS. I've reviewed this entire thread and changed my settings countless times. I don't understand and now its becoming extremely disheartening.
My settings as of now :

APN: att.mvno
User Name: Blank
Password: Blank
WAP Gateway: 66.209.11.33
WAP Gateway Port: 80
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com/
MMSC Port: 80
Max MMS Size: Blank

Any Suggestions? I've tried switching the last number in the gateway to .32 instead of .33. Still didnt work.
