Tumblr using up 1GB of data?

Hello,

I was checking my Data Sense today and noticed over 1GB has been used this month. Here is the thing, I never used Tumblr this month, or rarely, ever.

Why is it showing so much data transfer?

And I can I stop this?

Is it is a background app (how do I stop it then).

Open up battery saver, find Tumblr, tap on it and turn off the setting that allows it to run in the background. Had this issue with other members of the family. Not sure what it's doing or downloading in the background. Hasn't been updated in ages.

It's worth using something like Turtle Blog Viewer, Ported, Sapphire. for your tumblr needs.

I created an account years ago - and just never used it. When did pop on, I did find some interesting stuff. Guess I am more concerned about why it would use SO much data, when I don't use it. That is what surprised me. 1GB of usage in a month without even launching it - weird!

Nice to know there are options out there!

I know that Tumblr once caught me off guard with its Live Tile refresh data usage, so its probably that.

I don't have it on my main screen as a tile.

Methinks this app might be more sinister than previously thought...
