Turn flash on and off while recording?

Can anyone find a function to toggle the flash on or off in video mode while recording? I believe this used to be a function in Nokia Camera (in fact, I have footage to prove it!) but I don't see any way to do it now.

AFAIK we can't switch off he flash while recording once it has been activated

sent either from my Nokia Lumia 820 or HTC Desire HD

But this was most certainly possible before. Like I said, I have footage that proves it, where the flash turns on and off throughout the video clip. I don't understand why this feature would have been removed.

I've never been able to do this with any Windows Phone. Ever. WP7 or 8.

I promise you it was possible.

On October 25 2013, I was not able to change flash while recording. The footage from this date had to be stopped and restarted to enable and disable flash.
On October 31 2013, I was able to change flash while recording. I have one continuous video clip where the flash comes on and off visibly in the middle, and I was clearly in control of it.

Both clips were recorded with my Lumia 920 using Nokia Camera (then called Pro Cam), since Amber had become available in August 2013. I thought perhaps it was a function in Pro Cam that was dropped with the change to Nokia Camera, but now looking at old Youtube videos of Pro Cam, I don't see any way to change the flash during the shot in that old app either.

This absolutely puzzles me.
