this is really irritating me, thinking of returning my pro 4 and going back to pro 3

i just can't seem to turn the thing on! especially after closing lid or leaving it to go to sleep. i've had to shut it down and reboot.

boot time is slower than the pro 3

i wld not expect this from such an expensive machine

any ideas?

So far I am not having any issues with sleep. I just received my SP4 last evening (December 23) and after reading your comment here, it caused me to want to see if my PRO 4 had issues with sleep. Mine woke right up without issue

I just picked up my SurfacePro4 about a week ago and installed the firmware updates that were waiting before I setup anything else. I can close the type cover or shut down/restart and startup doesn't seem to take any longer than my SurfacePro3 did, in either aspect.

I have left the sleep settings at their default values.

Mine does not happen all the time but when it does
Press power button to turn on, nothing happens
Press power button again, red camera light turns on but nothing happens
Press power button again, camera light goes off, nothing happens
Finally give up and long press power button, turn unit off, turn back on again
Extremely frustrating

I have not had any of these issues.

Surface 4 101

To turn off press power once quickly (Hold down 20-30 seconds for complete shutoff)

To turn on Hold power button down for 2 seconds then let go (Quick also works , use 2 second hold down if having trouble)

---------------------------------

Two-button Shutdown (For troubleshooting)
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
Press and hold the volume up button and the power button for at least 15 seconds.
Wait 10 seconds
Press the power button normally

Advanced boot
Power+ Vol up ON
----

I do NOT suggest using sleep nor hibernate at all on SP4 until they fix it..then use sleep never hibernate

My 18 month old Dell did this since Windows 10 came out. There was an update from Dell that installed a week or so ago, mine is ok now.
