Twitter App Auto SMS

Howdy!

I was wondering if anyone knew how to keep the official Twitter app from subscribing you to SMS updates for any account you begin following from within the app. For example, if I choose to follow @WPCentral from the app, I automatically begin to receive SMS updates each time @WPCentral tweets and have to manually unsubscribe from SMS updates for each account I follow from the app.

I just never gave Twitter my phone number on the web-based desktop site.

Disassociating my number from my account would (theoretically) work but there are a few accounts I like to receive mobile updates from.

Any other ideas?

I don't know. Maybe someone else has suggestions (if there are any).

I only care about notification of RTs, replies, DMs and new followers; so I don't use any SMS/email alerts.

From with in the App try:

Settings --> General --> click on @youraccount. Next on the notifications page at the bottom of the page click on the word "tweets" which high is lighted on blue. Turn everything off.

The setting was already turned off but I never realized I could tap @myaccount for more settings. I'll play around with these settings and see what happens.

Haven't been able to figure it out unfortunately. I could just be missing something really obvious but I'm not sure what!
