Twitter in landscape?

Yesterday I rotated my phone (accidently) while using Twitter and the screen rotated opening up additional features that I have never seen before. There were extra icons along the top row for more features that cannot be seen (or accessed) while in portrait view. I have not been able to get it to repeat again since and it is driving me nuts. Is it supposed to rotate? A "bug"?
