Type Cover 2 Not Lighting Up

I'm almost certain this was working when I first got the device a few days ago, however I've just realised that the keys are not lighting up. I've tried using the cover in a completely dark room, restarting the Surface 2, but still they're not lighting up.

Any ideas?

Update - this seems to have resolved itself, false alarm! Odd bug.

I had tried that, but it didn't work at the time. It's working now however oddly it seems to be the Alt key plus the function buttons which actually do the command? The Function Key + F buttons does absolutely nothing.

I had the same problem as you did have you tried just pressing the F2 key without pressing the Fn key. F2 to brighten and F1 to dim, I hope this works for you good luck.

If I recall the default setting is for the F keys to act as Function keys (so pressing the F5 key brings up search) and to get the F key normal function you need to press Fn + F key (so pressing Fn + F5 refreshes the browser or runs a query).
