Typecover issue

Has anybody else had the issue where you're using your SP4 as a tablet, then decide to switch it to laptop mode and unfold the cover out to reveal the keyboard and touchpad, but upon doing this, the touchpad is unresponsive? I can be surfing the web and get to a page with a lot of text fields to fill in so I decide the keyboard will be nicer than the on-screen keyboard. But when I pull it out I cannot use the touch pad. If I disconnect the type cover and reconnect it, then it starts working. Any ideas?

Mine does that sometimes too. Sounds like Microsoft needs to update a driver or setting to fix this

Mine as well. It's pretty irritating. I switched from a surface 2 and I feel like I had less issues on that than this tablet. The waking issue, slow performance(maybe it's the m processor), and general problems with ram. It's been a pain.

Hasn't happened to me after reattaching the cover, but today, after an update, the touchpad became unresponsive. A simple restart solved the problem.

My type cover does the same thing too! Every time I turn on my surface my type cover is unresponsive. Even restarting it does not work! I performed a recovery, deleted everything and did all the updates and he thing still doesn't work. I return my touch pad and got a new one. The second is giving me the same issues. I'm thinking it's my surface. I'm going to go to the Microsoft store tommrrow and see if they can swap out my surface.
