Unable to flash 735 back to 8.1

I put the Windows 10 preview on my Lumia 735. It was OK but due to a few things I didn't like I tried to flash it back to 8.1.
However, the flash failed and now the phone only boots into a red screen. It stays like that for about 3 minutes then reboots.
This only gives enough time for about 80% of the flashing process, so it fails to install the software. Then the whole process just repeats.
Any ideas how to overcome this or is it beyond hope?

Use the Nokia tool and not the latest LSRT from MSFT. I had to use the Nokia tool to reset my 635. The new LSRT from MSFT did not work for me.

Don't worry that the 735 is listed as a 730, the files still flash correctly. I used this method to debrand my L735.
