HI
Tried the same thing you did and it wouldnt even start installing.

BUT
I HAVE THE SOLUTION!!!!!

1: If you?ve upgraded already to Win 10 and couldnt activate, then downgrade again to Win 8, use the media Creation tool for win 8 on Microsofts site (if you did like me and erased everything on your hard drive)

2: Use your Win 8 key to activate your Win 8 (if you had to reinstall it)

3: Go to "device manager" then graphic card and simply deactivate "graphic media accelerator".

4: Then again use the media creation tool for Win 10 this time and download that, then start it and use UPGRADE to Win 10.

Then you will have a activated version of Windows 10 on your tablet!!

Note, feels like it is faster now when the damn thing is activated!!
Hope it works out for everyone! Spread the word!!!
Thanks so much for the help!!

I hope you all understand, an Acer technician has officially stated that the Iconia W510 is deemed incompatible with Windows 10 and Acer will do nothing to solve any problems one has or will have with Windows 10.

http://community.acer.com/t5/Windows-10/windows-10-and-Iconia-W510/td-p/374966

Although my Windows works so far, with the old driver from Acer I have sometimes missing texts, symbols or buttons (exclusively in Windows apps) but the standard driver by Microsoft has no problems at all, except that it only uses basic functions and has a bad performance overall.

Sorry for the late anser. I actually went out and bought a new tablet, from a chinese Company called Cube, tablet model i7 stylus (awesome tablet for about 400-500 with a Intel M processor).

But back to the w510. The tablet felt slower but not that much slower and it got better after a few updates. But compared to my new one its very slow
