unable to update 6snap or App Social

I tried to update 6snap and App Social and they both download data then report "Attention required. Tap Here" but neither will update. You can't use either app because it says they have not finished updating, nor can I uninstall them.. I tried a soft reset, but nothing shifts the apps from this state, they are there, but not usable nor are they uninstallable. Anyone have any ideas, or similar issues.... still using Windows 8.0 but everything is up to date ( I check for updates every day)
