Uninstalling windows insider and receiving updates

My question is, if im now on the insider release preview circle, do i still need the insider app to run in the background or can i uninstall it and still get the updates?

You can disable background run, but better let installed for future ring changes and configuration updates

If you want receive the updates from the insider program, you need the insider app.
