Unknown USB device

In Settings>Devices>Connected Devices

Under Other devices I have a keyboard icon and a message that says "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) Connected to USB 3.0"

I have no USB devices connected and I don't know what a failed descriptor request is. Does anyone else have this message and has it been the cause of any problems? So far my Book has been running fine but there are a few bugs I've run into and I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.

Does your keyboard show up as a USB device?

I have this problem regularly when docking with the surface dock. One of my external hard drives will only remain connected for a few minutes before becoming unavailable. When it does, I receive the message that "One of my USB devices has malfunctioned." It will not come back without a reboot.
