Unlocked 635 and my existing phone?

Ok.. stupid question

just purchased a unlocked 635 from the Microsoft.

I have a htc 8x right now..

here is the question...

am I able to just take my sim card and put it in the 635 with no problems and will detect and I can operate fine.. or does my carrier have to do anything in the background?

also am I able to switch my sim card back and forth from the 8x anytime and just use it normally.. ?

right now.. I have windows 10 on the 635 but no cortana.. and I hear that the voice recognition is off a little too I understand its a technical preview.. but I like to use my 8x for normal use right now and then when I want to play around with windows 10 just switch my sim card to the 635

Who is your carrier? As long as you get adequate service through whom ever, then you should be good.

It should work granted the sim card can fit in the slot. It it doesn't you can cut it to make it smaller and put an adapter on it if it needs to be bigger.

On Telus I have to go to the mobile web site and enter the phone IMEI when swapping SIMs then wait several minutes for the phone to active.
