Unlocked Lumia 830 available at EXPANSYS

I just got an email from them stating:

"
The Nokia Lumia 830, Its RM is 985.

Regards,
Jorge Hernandez
"

Jorge initially told me RM-985 before they got their units in. I then chatted with both Yvette and Brenda, I believe, who put me on hold until they contacted their warehouse which told them RM-984.

Let's hope it's our unicorn, but I doubt it. For now, about to unbox my RM-984 :D

It seems to depend on which rep you talk to as to which variant they say they have. My e-mail yesterday from Jenny said she had checked with the warehouse and it was the 984. My understanding (and please correct me if I'm wrong) is that the 983 is most likely AT&T and takes power mat uses LTE bands 2,4 17; the 985 probably TMobile and takes Qi and uses LTE bands 2 and 4; and the 984 takes Qi but only has LTE band 7, and possibly headed to Canada where Bell and Rodgers use LTE bands 4 & 7.

All in all, I think I will just wait and see.

I cant' speak to the 984 going to Canada, but you're right about everything else. If you're in the US and you want LTE you want either the 983 or the 985.

Why the need for 3(+) types!!

They should release one that covers all LTE channels like the iPhone and then it's easier to know what to buy.

Having so many makes firmware upgrades harder too.
