Unlocked Lumia 920 with Tmobile BATTERY DRAIN..

Let me start out by saying I am REALLY, REALLY liking WP8 coming from iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I love Xbox Music pass and generally how fast and fluid the phone is, no keyboard lag etc.

However, recently I have noticed that when the phone is connected to LTE I have a battery drain of 10.5% per hour IDLE! My only option is to turn off data both at work and at home and use WiFi, but that is becoming annoying. How can I switch the phone to NEVER go LTE with Tmobile. Under Access Point it only shows me one option: TMOBILE LTE. Under networks I have option for Tmobile 4G/LTE and Tmobile G. Even if I click on Tmobile G it still shows LTE in the top left. I would like the phone to stay in 3g/hdpsa all the time so the battery doesn't die overnight. I even have a great LTE connection at home, 3 bars and about 20mb down so its not like its constantly searching for a singal. I live in the Seattle area if that helps anything.

Please help me fix this before I destroy the phone out of rage :)

Settings cellular doesn't work. It stays on LTE no matter what. This is just ridiculous. I'm going to have to be forced back to android.

What type of 920 are you using? I am using an unlocked pentaband 920 on T-Mobile and it is working flawlessly. The battery has leveled out and today I have used it for 4 hours heavily while driving and am still at around 65%. Love it.

Not sure about how to do what you're requesting, but I have an unlocked AT&T 920 and my first several days the battery drain was HORRID. However, when I turned off most of the background tasks, it works like a charm and I'm almost on LTE around the DC area.

Create a new apn with epc.tmobile.com as the internet apn and check if it actually forces your phone to use only 3g/hspa+, not sure whether it will work though you can give it a try. If your phone would have a different 920 rom then you might have options

Actually, forget it. I'm done with Nokia and windows phones. The phone and software is nice but there is too many bs bugs like this.

Goodbye wp8, back to android. Cya later everyone

Err... Okay, yeah, because Android isn't a battery hog or buggy.

So long, I guess.

Well not really tbh from my experience, my wife's s4 easily outlasts my 920 but that may be coz i play with my phone more than her... 😁
...that doesn't mean i have started liking android, i still hate it 😜

crap.. hope i don't run into this kind of issue since i just recently purchased an ATT unlocked. Another question i have (out of the subject).. The phone has ATT logo in it w/o the actual "AT&T" wording... could anyone verify this if its a newer model or older? :shrugs:

That's weird, I thought all AT&T 920s had the name in words... The 1020 has only the picture logo.

Err... Bernie, that really looks like a 1020. I hope you didn't just get scammed. :unhappy: Well, the case is obviously not for a 1020 but for a 920. Hmm...

1020!?.. uh.. lol now why would someone wanna sell an unlock 1020 that cheap considering it just came out.. i HIGHLY doubt it.. and it better not be a scam.. but if it does turned out to be one.. i always have the buyers protection covering it. Elite PayPal customer holder here = ) ... however, i've been searching online and have happened to read on some sources that ATT decided to leave out just the globe logo w/o the At&t text alongside on their "newer" devices. -shrugs-

I don't think for a second that they would sell you a 1020, especially for that price. It just seems like that's what's in the pictures. Maybe someone who has a newer AT&T 920 can verify whether the phone now has the picture logo only?

I've gotten this battery drain on & off somedays is good somedays is bad. i usually turn off location, bluetooth and i leave wifi on.
