Unlocked US lumia 640 phone does not have cellular connection speed options

I bought and imported a lumia 640 from the USA - the box indicates the phone is unlocked and it is unlocked

I inserted my SIM card and everything works but in settings, I cann't see the option to change the cellular data connection speed anywhere - the one that can switch between 2G, 3G and 4G

The phone has the latest Windows phone 8.1 update

Any ideas on what I can do?

Assuming you have the AT&T version the only way to get those settings to work is to debrand your phone. I just did mine recently using this tutorial,

and used his update.bat, and it worked perfectly. As far as a ROM goes I used,

RM-1073 VAR LTA 7R CV

which is an unbranded South American ROM, and have had no problems with it so far.

Yes. The only thing is most are branded in some way and unless you can find someone that has used it, no way to know if those options are available or not.

There is also five variants of the 640 (3 single SIM, and 2 dual SIM), and the ROM has to match the model number.
