True. Don't waste money with these unlocking companies who are charging around $30 to $50 on average. Come on, the phone itself costs only $50. Call AT&T first and see if they can unlock it for free. Just follow the link as posted above and you will get your code in 1-2 days. Thanks Jive Turkey!

Not any more for 15-bucks. It is 38-bucks for 5 to 10 days or 50 for 1 to 2 days.

Anyone have any low cost suggestions?

I tried twice with AT&T andf both times got an email back saying "Denied." Not a now or former AT&T customer. The device needs to have been active in AT&T service for 6-months to unlock as a non-AT&T customer. HUH??? Only AT&T eh? :D.
