Update of Music app out today?

Well, I still get this garbage. It doesn't last as long, but still stupid and annoying. How hard is it to display a list of things stored locally on my device? It takes less time to load huge websites in ie.

Just thought I'd throw this out for you. I'm sticking to MixRadio for now till the next update - that one seems more... hopeful.

No update notification on my phone even after forcing update check. I went to the app link mentioned in wpcentral article. There it says " The app is not available for my device". What kind of sorcery is this?

It seems to work better, but there is a lot of work ahead. And I think until the public release of 8.1 the app will be much better. the only issue I had with 8.1 is the music app, and now that I see they are doing work on it, I see no reason to concern.

@SpaceyO: Are you using "transparency tiles" to launch the app? That was the reason for me. When launching it using the app's own tile, it worked.

Question - does anyone notice that Xbox Music frequently crashes/ does not load/ is slower when using the tile as created by Transparency Tiles?

well my slow app is now working faster, but still slow. They need to make it stop looking for music every time you do something

Yeah, from using it for a couple of hours, it is faster than it was but it's still not as fast as the previous app. It still searches for music anytime you leave the app. Also, on a few occasion, it would skip while playing songs.

you're right...I was using Transparency Tiles. I've tried it a couple times with the regular tile and it seems to be working.

Thanks!

Last night I was messing around and noticed that the Xbox Music app had a store rating of 1.9. Today it seams to be up to 2. Playing music for a lot of people is one of the main features of a phone. With an app this bad, someone should have been fired or replaced. I was actually shocked when they released the new app for regular WP8, it was so horrible, I didn't know why they would release something so bad into the public.

For anyone interested. The link to Paul Thurrott's winsupersite below lists the changes in this version and also states that there is another update coming in 2 weeks and what fixes should be included in that.

That's interesting. I hope they get their act together. I don't want people to think WP sucks because the music experience is a load of crap. I think the app is getting closer, but LOADING is one thing in this world that just pisses me off. It's one of the reasons I will NEVER use direct tv, because it takes like 5 seconds to turn the channel, it's so angering.

Am I the only person who can't get the damn app to load at ALL?

When I first updated to 8.1, the app refused to do anything. It wouldn't show my music or hardly anything at all. A few times it crashed. Gave it a day and it started working just fine for no reason at all.

Maybe you need one of those hard resets.. That is if you didn't already do that.

I'm not sure why the app is no longer allowing me to purchase songs with MusicPass credit. The purchase available option does not appear when selecting download. Is this another bug in the app or is something squirrely with my account?

The app on the phone. I used to have the option to purchase up to 10 songs per month. If I searched for a song either with Bing or manually in the Music app after selecting download it would inform me the song was available for purchase and would use one song credit and display how many credits I had left for the month. My MusicPass renewed on the 23rd. Has the benefit of being able to purchase up to 10 songs per month disappeared or is there a glitch in the Music app?

The music app is a beta and the people giving it a low rating are clueless.
