Update stuck at "Working on Updates 78%" for several days already

[Windows Central Question]

The latest Windows 10 Insider update has my laptop stuck at "Working on Updates 78%" for several days and nothing more. When I shut it down (power button) it restores the previous version and will then just get stuck again when it tries to apply the Updates the next night.

Machine has 1Tb hybrid drive, 12 gig RAM, i5

Any assistance would be appreciated as yhe laptop is now out of commission for 4 days.
