Update to Windows 10

Hey guys, I am using Lumia Denim on my Nokia Lumia 930. I want to update to Windows 10 but I am afraid that the updating process will delete my photos, SMS, whatsapp chats etc.
Will that happen?

No,updating phone through over air will not delete anything.if you update through computer will delete your photo.videos etc

I suppose you talking about WDRT. However, it's possible, through a PC, to upgrade (*.cab files and iutool.exe) without losing data.

I'm not sure how it works with WhatsApp though. You might not have those when/if you update to Windows 10.

You will only lose your data if you perform a hard reset after the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile (which is highly recommended).

To ensure that your phone functions smoothly (even though others have had varying experiences), back up all your media data manually (photos, videos, documents, etc.) and all the app data that you can (WhatsApp history can be backed up to the microSD card and/or OneDrive), and then start afresh.

Backup everything, to be sure, but, when I upgraded, everything remained on the device afterwards.

I updated my lumia to win10m month ago,and nothing dissapear because of the proccess,everything remains,but you dont really trust the system you can always back up.
