Updating Icon to DP anything I should expect?

I've seen some complaining of battery drain issues but are there any other significant reasons not to update the preview?

Also are the battery issues very significant?

I'm just trying to weigh the options. This is actually for my father who was asking about some of the new features. I was mostly just wondering if the drop in battery life justifies them. If the battery drain is too significant I'll have to tell him to wait for the update with firmware from Verizon.

That's probably what I'll end up doing except for a few of the apps he uses.

I see absolutely no issues with my battery since I upgraded to DP on my Icon. This phone is awesome with DP

I just meant there are already a million threads on this and not to mention how many articles beautifully written by windows central staff. Just seemed rather redundant.

Same here. I updated my Icon to the Windows 8.1 Developer Preview last week and I have not had any battery issues. For the first few days I kept the WiFi and GPS off most of the time. Then I moved to keeping the WiFi and GPS on continously and still no significant power drain. :smile:
