Upgrade or buy at full price?

The past few days I've been debating whether I want to renew my contract for this phone. I was leaning toward waiting and trying to get one for cheap off contract, but now I think the Amazon deal is too good to pass up. $99 for the Trophy + a $25 Amazon gift card is pretty great. I'll be taking that deal as soon as it starts on Monday.

In about a year if there's a new phone I really want I'll see if I can pick up that one used on Ebay. Since I'll already have a WP7 at that point I won't be itching to upgrade like I am now and I'll be more willing to wait. As it is, I don't think I wanna wait anymore to try to get one cheap on Ebay.

That's a pretty good deal, for me though the only way I'd bite on a contract is if it was free...

And that's 100% due to Verizon, not the phone itself.
