Upgrade time..should i stick to 32 bit?

With windows 10 due soon,should i install 64 bit OS ? I am using intel core2duo (64 bit system) with 3 gb RAM. I use 32 bit windows 8.1 at present...

Yep. 64 is where you need to be. You also need to update that core 2 but it will work. I ran 8.1 on it before I upgraded my box.

If you're not going to go above you're current 3GBs of RAM then moving this to a 64bit version of Windows and doing a clean install would be unnecessary. It sounds like you are operating on some pretty old hardware if you only have 3GB of RAM and a Core2Duo, something that probably came late in XP life or in the Vista era. If you're not looking to add an increased work load for yourself then I would just do an in place upgrade to the 32bit version of Windows 10, upgrading to a 64bit system on a machine like that isn't going to help you out.

Absolutely. I have a Core 2 Duo E6600 that has worked well since I went 64-bit and added extra RAM (8GB total).
