USB-C charging on the Surface Book 2

Anyone with experience regarding USB C charging on the Book 2?

What wattage on the charger do u use?

Is it able to supply power even when pushing the performance on the Book?

Sorry for posting in an older thread. I just replaced my MacBook Pro with a Surface Book 2. When I plug my MBP's 87 watt USB-C charger in to my SB2, I get an error stating the device wasn't recognized, then another error stating the device is slow charging.

Interestingly, when I plug my USB-C monitor in (which provides 60w of charge power), I get no error notices at all.

The charger & cable are known good and charge the MacBook Pro without any trouble.

Any thoughts?

Sometimes the orientation of the USB C connector matter for some reason.
