USB OTG on Windows Phone 8.1/Lumia Black: Anyone tried out yet?

there isn't any OTG support in wp 8.1, and there will be any support in the future, implementing an OTG feature is beyond the ability of microsoft programmer.. if you want OTG you *NEED* android phone

But my Windows 8.1 tablet supports USB OTG, and Win10 is just Win10 on all devices (no special Windows Phone 10). So firstly, who did MS outsource OTG work to on Win8.1 if they can't do it and why not outsource to them again?

Also, assuming they don't cut USB OTG from Win 10 (which would really mess up tablets), why would it not simply just work for phones? Is there a hardware issue that prevents it?

As far as I know it must be engineered in the hardware, it can't simply be patched in if the hardware doesn't support it. It has to do with power consumption of usb hosts

A USB host controller is completely different from the simpler USB device controller. USB OTG need both plus firmware support.
