USB port standardization

So much for standardizing the port location - they forgot about the orientation!

Ha, I just linked from here to your post on The Verge too, like a minute too late apparently. But yeah, this is really dumb, if they really were going for a standardized location.

oh i'm sure all the HTC accessories will work just fine. but who is to say on the dock you can't reverse the orientation?

Damn, that is really dumb. It would be hard enough for a universal dock to adjust width and depth for different devices. Swivel USB plug? I don't think so. Anyone check Samsungs offering?

Honestly, if there are accessories for both worldwide then I don't mind. The port at the bottom helps with docks, which are pretty much the only accessories I'm interested in.

The nokia one doesn't looke like a photo so much as a render. It is possible that if it is a render of the device that whoever did it accidently put the USB port on upside down.

Maybe to hold the screen in place maybe. Because that's how you disassemble the device, by taking the screen out.

I think for the Lumia 900 you had to take out the SIM tray, then there was some sort of pin or something behind there that held the screen in place.

Looks like the ATIV S is the same as the Lumia. Wider edge on bottom.

I guess, but since it's unibody and stuff. I don't remember the other lumias having screws. Looks weird. But yeah maybe is for the moving camera.
