Use SP4 for note taking while using external monitors

I have an SP4 & use it for work & love it. I have it connected to 2 external monitors via surface dock & have the SP4 screen turned off. What I want to know is there a way to use 1 (or 2) external monitors & also use the SP4 for note taking?

This way I can get rid of physical notepad for note taking & use the SP4 for this.

Any help is appreciated.

This is what I was thinking too, but it sounds like you want to still do this with the screen off? If so, that wouldn't be possible.

But I have used my SP4 connected to 1 external monitor while taking notes on the screen with OneNote--it works very, very well for this if you are using an external keyboard and mouse. In essence, it is a bit like having a Wacom tablet attached to work from.

Which model do you have, too? I have the I5 with 4GB ram, so I don't use it in this configuration that much, since I have other machines with I7 and more ram.
