Thought this was a nice little finding I didn't know about till my phone started reading text alerts to me while I was listening to music using regular, cheap headphones (no mic). Sorry if this is already known. I always thought you needed either a wired headset (headphones with a mic) or a Bluetooth headset to use any voice function with your phone. Not sure if this is a GDR3 thing (currently on the preview) but I am able to reply to texts and make phone calls using cheapo headphones (no built in mic). I was able to successfully make calls as well using voice (just press and holding the Start button). I recall not being able to do this on my 900, and I don't believe I was able to do this on an iPhone (IOS 4 was when I last tried to). Advantage is you can just find your favorite pair of headphones without worrying about having to unplug them to talk on the phone, downside is you just don't have easy controls accessible without taking out the phone itself.
