been wanting to try windows 10 mobile since I use a SP3 on a daily basis.

Found an unlocked 830 for around $90. A few questions:

- is $90 worth it given its a couple of years old?
- is W10 officially on 830 or do you have to "hack" it somehow
- if W10 is on it, does 830 run smoothly?
- the seller says its unlocked and the box is just a normal Nokia box (no carrier branding). Will this phone work on Tmobile with full connectivity? LTE and 4G?
- or should I just look for a used 650 in a few months and try W10 then?

Thanks!

Just replaced my wife's 830 with a 950.

Having said that, the 830 is working fine with Windows 10 and anniversary update on it (Screen used to flicker before the anniversary update).

The 830 was released as 8.1 so if you reset the phone it goes back and you need to update again, but it isn't such a big deal.

But $ 90 for a two year old phone sounds a bit steep, I don't know how much the 650 is in the US but the new price can't be that far away can it.

But to really see Windows 10 with Continuum you would want to save your pennies up and go for a 950, these are pretty well speced phones and very good prices at the moment.

But given a simple choice of a 2 year old 830 and a new 650, I think I would go for the 650.

Can't help you with the carriers.

I'd rather get a 930, better build quality and specifications.
Not true. Build quality is identical.

The L930 is faster and has "hey Cortana".

The L830 has a SD card slot, is slimmer, lighter, doesn't get as hot, and has better battery life. I find W10M on the L830 a little clunky, as it is slightly underpowered, but so are the L640 and L650.
