Using a Logitech C270 webcam with XBox 1s

I am trying to setup a Logitech C270 webcam for use with the Xbox 1s as recommended by Windows Central as one of the webcams that the Xbox supports. I would like to use it for party chat. I've plugged it in to the USB port on the front of the xbox and tried to navigate around the Xbox settings but I'm not sure what to do with regards to setting it up. I have had a chat with a gamer on the Xbox support forum who suggests that this webcam will not work on the Xbox. Does anyone else use this webcam to chat rather than a headset. I don't have any luck with headsets as they never seem to last very long so I thought the webcam would be a better option. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It may be that it only works with certain Xbox apps?
