Using Apps problem outside home

I have installed the apps i need for the Nokia 520 and they work perfectly at home with my internet connection. When i am away for home they do not load proberly, what do i need to change in the settings for them to work ouside my home and will i be charged by my "pay as you go" provider?

If they require internet connection for instance Instagram to get pictures you will need to go to settings > mobile network > data connection (ON) and pick your connection speed according to your tariff (2G, 3G, 4G)
