Using ATIV SE Internationally

Hello all,

I will be traveling to Italy for the summer and I wondering if any of you have experience using the ATIV SE abroad. I would really like to know if anyone has experience using a European pay as you go SIM card. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, but I'm just trying to plan my trip so I don't have any surprises while I'm over there.

I understand the ATIV SE already comes unlocked, though you won't be able to change MMS settings.

Yup, just make sure the band support is to your liking!

I'm using ATIV SE in Australia. LTE works fine, internet sharing and MMS doesnt work. A couple of apps just became useless with the Verizon 8.1. For some reason I can no longer log in through the eBay app and cant send pics via Viber??

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I can live without MMS, especially if I can get a cheap data plan. Just to clarify, SMS would still work right?

yup SMS works fine. Who uses MMS anyway

What's the service provider?

It's highly likely the 3G bands don't line up with your provider's. (Like how in the US, phones that get 3G on AT&T won't usually get 3G on T-Mobile except in some areas.)

I am using Airtel here and 3g bands ( 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 ) are supported

Im using it in Mexico (Movistar), works on H+ but here have no LTE coverage but maybe in a month will have it
