Using the tablet with the screen off?

Hi,
I have a usage case for my tablet where i want to have audio playing whether streaming or lot a land have the screen turned off. On my android tablet that is very easy to do however with my venue 8 pro whenever i try that it either stops the audio or after a minute it stops it. Is this a problem with my settings or is it a windows limitation?

I tried something with the metro music player and the sleep setting is turned off. However it seems it only works in the metro player and sleep turned off.

Only Metro Apps can play audio while the screen is off. Web based not included. So Google music wont play but gMusic is a good metro-based replacement. With the audio playing, if the standard volume percentage shows when you turn it up and down, it won't persist through sleep. If the modified volume up and down with media info shows up, then it will work. Easiest way to tell if you aren't sure.
