actually it's not the RAM but the CPU. My tip is to disable sound, set frameskip (increase emulation speed) to 3. You will get good speed even on the heaviest GBA game.

Are you sure that is a Gameboy rom?

Try downloading it manually onto your phone, the open it using VBA8.

VBA8 should be set as your default *.gba file opener should you have it installed.
