Verizon Unlocked Icon?

Just an info question: Do Verizon phones have to be unlocked to take to a MVNO? Usually I read the unlocking is for GSM, which leaves me thinking a Verizon phone could be locked when taking to a Verizon MVNO.

Yeah the Icon should be just fine on a Verizon MVNO such as Page Plus. The unlocking is only needed if you plan to use it on a carrier such as T-Mobile, and AT&T.

Verizon phones are also generally GSM unlocked by default.

Verizon's LTE phones are unlocked for GSM carriers. You can simply insert an AT&T or T-Mobile SIM card and you're on. The only exceptions to being unlocked that I know of are some prepaid Verizon phones. All postpaid (and some prepaid I think) phones are unlocked.

That said, Verizon phones may not have all the same LTE bands used by AT&T, T-Mobile, or any other GSM carrier. But they will work.
