Whilst reading your new article on Skype https://www.windowscentral.com/skype-hit-connectivity-issues-around-globe using Edge (with no ads being blocked) I was re-directed to a web page which then tried to download and install a suspicious file. I assume what happened was I hovered over an ad whilst scrolling down and I was re-directed.

Not impressed in the slightest given your campaign for users to turn off out ad-blockers.

The whole reason we had them on was because performance on your website was awful. Now I have another perfectly valid reason.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I agree it is very problematic to run WC without any Ad Blocking. Without it, it tries to load and auto-start Flash Player ads. Not only are they annoying, they are now considered dangerous malware entry points to your system.

I am so done with Flash Player. I refuse to allow Flash access on my system. If some site requires it for a plug in I won't use that site.

Follow step 4 ("enable" advice) on the Flash Player Help page to get to the settings in your Browser(s) and then choose the option that prevents sites from using Flash.

It is past time that Flash Player and it's vulnerabilities dies off. The more of us blocking it, the faster it will go the way of the dodo bird.

And for the record, this is not an official statement. I've retired from staff and cease to consider myself as such even though the change has not been made on my profile as of yet.
