VLC Windows 8.1 update coming soon, Windows Phone app still not quite there yet

Thomas Nigro has shared some details covering the VLC app for Windows (and Windows Phone) on his personal blog. The developer notes how it has been decided for the team to drop supported for Windows 8 (and keep building for Windows 8.1), really focusing on optimization and getting everything neatly tied together cross-platform..

It's the missing link on my phone. A decent, clean and smooth video player. Yes, there apps out there but VLC must be the app to fix this hole. I'm really looking forward to the Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone versions of the app.

Don't need VLC for WP 8/8.1 for as long as Moli Player Pro is around.
