Voice Recognition Failure

Off and on the voice recorder on my Focus totally quits on me. Whether it's filming a video, trying to use Shazam, or using voice to text features, I've had problems in all cases. Sometimes it starts working again quickly and other times I give up after repeated tries. Powering off and on has intermittent success as well.

Has anyone else had this problem? Do you think it's a hardware issue/faulty phone?

From what i have read it has something to do with using headphones on the phone. Not sure if that applies to your situation or not. Seems that if you have been listening to music pull your headphones then try to record you get nothing. If you start a phone call without a headset that will reset the microphone and you should be good to go. Here is a link Samsung Focus - problem recording sound with video
