My volume up button on my Lumia 520 running the developer preview has stopped working. I visited Nokia care, they say that because it's on the developer preview it doesn't come under the warranty and I'll have to pay Rs.650 to fix that one button. I can't take screenshots due to this. Can someone help? Thank you.

As far as I'm aware installing and using a dev preview does not void your warranty. But if they insist, it shouldn't bother you much. You can use the Nokia Tools to install WP 8 on your device again and they will never know you had WP 8.1 dev preview on it before.

So once I downgrade to windows phone 8 I'll have to install windows phone 8.1 developer preview all over again?

Nokia Care says that I'll have to pay the money because its running the developer preview and I have voided the warranty due to it.

Like I said, use the Nokia Tools to install WP 8.0 again. They will never know you were running 8.1, hence get your warranty back. Which isn't even voided by using the dev preview anyways.

There is a bug in the dev preview that will leave one of two buttons unusable. Try to soft reset your phone by holding volume down and power button at the same time for 10minutes. And try to click the volume buttons.

My Lumia 620 has the same problem in fact both of my volume buttons are dead, but if I press the device case at the point where volume button is present the volume buttons work. Maybe its because the fittings have become loose on my phone. Try on your phone whether it works out not.
