W10M App: Clicking through to articles direct from a notification hangs the app

Typical use case: I wake up and see I have 10 or so Windows Central notifications. I click on one. It launches the app and attempts to go straight to the article. It hangs with the loading dots. I can click to the comments of the article, but when I click back to the article it is still hanging. I then open the hamburger, click News, and scroll down to find the article I was trying to view which, when accessed from the main news feed, works fine.

This used to work without issue in older versions of the app. I'm on a Lumia 950XL, no insider builds.
