Re: W10M Insider Preview 14383 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Fast Ring)

Store kind of works, apps seem to have updated themselves, but I have the spinning busy logo thing in the middle of the screen all the time, like it's looking for updates... but it never stops.

Also, no sign of any new firmware here, though my phone is branded but unlocked, might have to look at changing the id so it becomes a generic handset without any carrier branding...

Yep, store still crashing big time, getting to a point where it's doubtful if this platform is ever going to be right, WiFi still has issues, Cortana buggy and has a mind of its own etc etc and on and on it goes!
The bit that really makes me laugh is their so called flagship phone....buy one get one free. Says it all really.

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14383 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Slow Ring)

My phone Lumia 830, OS Build 10.0.1483.0, Firmware revision number: 02177.00000.15184.36004, Radio software version: 401c3.00009.0001

My India retail 830 has the same firmware but ending with an 36003. Radio is the same. I was hoping 830 will also a get a new firmware so that we can call recording.

strange...I updated my wife's 830 same as me for 14383 but she did not received the same firmware as me...now resetting her phone

AFAIK, there is no new FW for NL830. It's only for 950 series.

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14383 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Fast Ring)

Hi all, I downloaded new firmware and update 14383 last night in hope that Wi-Fi Connections issues should be gone.. sad to say its not.
Went to work this morning and it automatically connected to our wifi, now, approx 5 hours later, my wifi-Icon says "no Connection" but it is connected to our 5ghz wifi. maybe i?ll switch to our 2,4ghz and test.
I also have probems with notifications from (what I know about) whatsapp and FBmessenger.. I dont get them at all. If I restart my phone I can get notifications that should have shown from days back... which means i missed a friends message on whatsapp since I got it 3 Days later after a reboot. I havent resetted my phone, does anyone else have these issues?

I wouldnt give up on my Lumia 950 anyway, best phone Ive ever had, or maybe Lumia 925.

No hard reset, for store is a temp backend, sometimes open sometimes not. Lei it do its things.

From now to the Lauch, it's quite UNUSEFUL doing an HR

You were right - both problems seemed to resolve themselves overnight.

You mean FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS FROM MICROSOFT FOR EVERY BUILD INSTALL?! Holly cow!

Allen, I don't believe that is the current recommendation...and, probably NOT worth the trouble in MOST cases":^)

Lumia 950xl here, on 14383, battery drains like 20-25% per hour. Been like since the update. Restarted, soft reset multiple times. But no improvement. Suggest a hard reset?? I never had any problems before with the insider builds.

I had the same with the Store and the Spinning Circles, stop after a while I think Store is just going deep in its search for updates and bugs).

FW Update is being roll-out by regions, and should be available soon (950 and 950XL were the referred to models, within this roll-out).

Absolutely NOT. Check your bckground apps, some turned on again, and check what is the most culprit

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14383 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Fast Ring)

I am testing it on a lumia 535. The apps work ok and the phone is fast but there is a problem with battery drain. Drains 5% with wifi on doing nothing when at threshold was 1-2% max. When I switch off the wifi battery consumption is 1% per hour. This is a big problem because it means you practically cannot use the phone with wifi on. A second minor problem is that some live tiles stops refreshing and start again only if you unpin and re-pin them (then stop again after a while).

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14383 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Fast Ring)

Here is the screenshot for the last 6 Hours. Sometimes it shows Default lock screen as the culprit. This is while idle. No usage of the device, like over night usage. And also, battery drains faster than it gets charged with the original(fast) charger.

I have installed it yesterday afternoon. it has been close to18 Hours. No signs of improvement. May I know why you suggested that?

lalith.chinta, MY BAD, I meant to quote to a Store Update post, not yours....SORRY, please disregard.

Nothing short of an absolute shambles on 1520. Far too many issues to describe here I'd end up cracking up with what can only be utter incompetence. I'm ready to go back to android, at least you know every time you need to use it that it simply...... Works.

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14383 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Fast Ring)

So here we are, on possibly one of the last few builds before the anniversary update goes live, and yet the calendar live tile still does not work and I have to resize/repin it just to make it show the current date. It's been like that for several builds now. Anyone else still seeing this problem?

Re: W10M Insider Preview 14383 Discussion (Redstone Branch, Slow Ring)

I am sitting at FW number: 01078.00038.16025.39005.
Wow..that's a big difference (Firmware revision number: 02177.00000.15184.36004), yes?
No point comparing the firmware version numbers from two completely different phones. They are completely separate things. 950 and 830, if I correctly remember the discussion from yesterday.
