The Nokia 920 made me take notice of a Windows phone for the first time in four years as its hardware is just beautiful and powerful a once. Finally, innovative hardware.

However, as I watched the demos showing the poor styling of the OS (horrendous color schemes, no gradients, textures, etc.), my heart just sank.

The tile idea is interesting and original but Microsoft made absolutely no effort to make it elegant or beautiful. In fact, it's almost as though they went out of their way to make it look amateurish and garish. Lime green - really? Hot pink?!

It almost defeats the purpose of having that gorgeous HD+ display. I'd honestly be embarrassed to show the device to anyone.

Did Microsoft outsource the graphic design to Toys R Us?
