My dad has been using gophone for many months now and he said he can pretend he got a new phone and that they might unlock it. After 1 hour in live chat and many calls he got no where.

They all say different things. The worst one is that the new phone must be on the go phone plan for at least 6 months.

That I believe is the AT&T policy, 6 months if you have a smartphone before they will unlock it unless you are a long time customer of AT&T but not of their go phone plan.
