I feel a little hung over. I should probably get some "Zn?ni".
Zn?ni is what we call a little snack in the morning in Switzerland. It comes from the Swiss German number nine (n?n). In the afternoon we call it "Zvieri", based on the number four (vier). This is of course referring to the time.
Interesting. I guess that corresponds to when people usually had a snack?
Here in the UK I get confused sometimes by the terminology. Doesn't help that I spent time in Australia where the same terminology is used differently. To give an example.
Tea typically in Australia refers to 'snack time' morning or afternoon. Where Tea in the UK usually refers to the evening meal. Then I've heard people refer to tea as lunch. Then there's the term dinner for lunch, which is usually the evening meal in Australia and Canada/US.
