WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

re: WC 100K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So there are two sets, with ten commandments each??
Am I getting it right??

There are two sets of commandments in the Bible. They do conflict a bit with each other. Sort of depends on what Bible you have and whether it's been edited.

So there are different versions of the bible? I didn't know that.

Is there anything similar in the Koran? I'm not overly familiar with that one (not that I can read it anyway).
There are many many many things written in Surah's/chapters....there are 114 of them...and they have verses....which include not just these 10 but many more things in it :)

Ah. That's a lot of rules. Well I guess not much different than secular law.

Does the contents of the bible vary much in these different versions??

Let's put this into perspective.

There are technically five versions of Christianity - Catholic, Protestant, Lutheran, Orthodox and Baptist. Lots of people place Lutheran and Baptists with the Protestant group and Orthodox tends to be very Catholic in essence.

Each of these groups have their own Bible and their own ways of practicing.

Then there are splinter groups from these.

The general text is similar and what people get from it is similar but they are different in some parts. Some aspects are edited out for whatever reasons.
