WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

re: WC 100K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I don't know why either I just go with it since I'm American 

Do you have some standard baking cup size? The variation this could lead to just makes me crazy as a biologist. Is it a 2 dl cup, a 1 dl cup, even a 3 dl cup? Also cups can have different shapes, so filling a cup up to the top can really influence the result significantly, how do you deal with this? And then if you have to add something not measured in cups, how do you keep it in the right relation?

It really is a difference if you add an egg to 1 dl of flour or 2 dl of flour!

It's just a general question on how this is handled. There must be a consensus?

I'm in the lab right now, not baking. Here I have pipettes that can handle volumes in the 0.1 ?l area... ;-)

1 cup ~ 200ml or 2dl
1 pound ~ 0.5kg
1 tablespoon ~ 18ml (use a 20ml spoon)
1 teaspoon ~ 6ml (use whatever is close)

That's the typical measurements. Unless they go ounces.

1 cup ~ 8.5 ounce

Your typos are worse than sahibs

re: WC 100K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Yes, biology is amazingly interesting.

Your intended sarcasm came out to be truthful. I love biology... Certain parts of it. I don't enjoy studying about every bone and muscle in the body; however, I love studying nutrition and food science!

I only make typos in tapatalk because of its cluttered user interface. On top of that, I refreshed 3 times, and still couldn't quote you.
