WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Enjoy. While i think it's a nice device, I still am not a fan of the company.

I'm waiting until next weekend before i start to clean house. I'm finally glad to be out the game officially.

I will start selling all of my extra devices starting Thursday.
I have a brand new Pixel 3 that I need to get rid off. I got two, I am keeping one.
A few other devices which are a generation old - Mate 10 Pro, Pixel 2XL as well.
I will probably keep the S9 as a spare until the S10 comes out.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Nice review. Not surprised. I guess you see why i was looking at one - if the jack was any good, I'd have gotten the Mate 10.

You know if I hadn't been using the Pixel series camera for the last two years, this would be a keeper device. But alas the Pixel camera has spoiled me. Aside from that one issue, it is a superb device. Google really has pushed the limit of what great software can do with a decent camera sensor (same sensor used by Apple, Sony, Samsung, Google).

The devs at XDA from the last time I looked haven't found a nice way for Google Cam to play well with Kirin based phones (that may change).

I agree that from a point and shoot auto mode perspective, it starts with the Pixel. I don't think your tune is going to change much if you land a Mate 20 series or a P20 series device either, as you really like what Google is doing (even though you praise food when you see it).

For me, I would be fine with a Pixel 3 or a P10 Pro as a secondary device, not daily drivers as I'm going back to my audio roots. I would have sacrificed audio if it were a Mate RS but I've seen latency issues there. The Mate 20 Porsche has a notch and it is uber expensive. I don't care about face unlock. I'm unopposed to a notch if you're giving me good audio and it's not too egregiously designed.

I like what Google is doing in auto mode but until they add on a manual mode, it doesn't make swallowing their UI choices that much more palatable for me, among other things.

I like what Huawei is doing with their cams but until video fully catches up, it does make their UI choices and other niggles more palatable.

And both price wise are ridiculous.

I see some of Rue's Yellow Vests neighbors ran amok in France this weekend. French police arrested a **** ton of people though.

Need to be clear. Though I'm not against the yellow vest I'm not for them either.

The people causing the problems in Paris are not the yellow vest protestors but people out to cause problems and using these protests as a way to do so.

The typical yellow vest protestor is someone who's 'had enough'. Usually from out of the big cities and finding it difficult to get by on low wages and high cost of living.

The current president is getting a lot of slack and some of his policies are not popular but not everything is his fault. Some of the issues stem from way before him. Truth is no president would ever be 'good enough' for France.

Also lots of misinformation is being shared around and those who are easily swayed are.

The president needs to figure out a way to communicate better with those out of Paris. His ideas will bear fruit but currently he's seen as arrogant. Which is never a good look for a president, especial in France.

I just hope this ends soon, not sure how that will happen. I got a long drive in January and I don't want it to be any longer.

Keep in mind there protests are happening all over France. The only violence and destruction is in Paris for the most part. Which is sad. If they do this again this Saturday I think people will start to turn against them. I think there are people already wary of being aligned with then now.

I was raised on a former British colony known for its rebellions. I even lived through a terrible gas riot (protest of fuel hikes) that shut down the country for roughly a week. That was ultimately ineffective as the government just rolled the hikes back and gradually put them in place a few months later.

Stuff like this ain't new to me.

I'm empathetic to the plight but vandalism (and looting) doesn't help. Lots of people across the board are fed up with traditional governments. Everybody is chasing glory days in the same way everyone is chasing Apple's super profits. Unsurprisingly, absolute poverty in capitalism always has the same look no matter the country.

It's the relative poverty that often gets people in trouble.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Just found out two of my favorite artistes (Sting and Shaggy) did a collaboration this year. I like what I heard, so I'll get the album for a listen.
I like it. For those who want to stream the LP is called 44/876.

That's funny, there's 65 million who think it's working splendidly in the US. Add an "i" to the middle your prez's last name, flip the "c" and "r" and you have the perfect Cuban description of arrogant leaders.

France is known for its protests and strike actions.

Thing is this protest that's going on has no leadership. There's no one to really talk to about stopping things. They're already planning for a protest this Saturday. It's all social media driven.

It appears all they want is the president to step down but then what? Do they expect immediate changes??? Who will be in charge then?

It's a mess. If things go badly this Saturday I have a feeling that will be it. Most people are tired of the protests and violence was never the idea.

It's one thing to protest it's another to vandalise, loot and destroy.

The main issue you have in the USA is that ego is king. USA must be number one. There is no better... Blah blah blah...

Heard it for years. The chanting, etc. Nationalism has been running wild in the USA for a long time.

You now have a president giving those who believe that a voice.

It's not pretty. Never has been.

It's always been filled with too much hate. We're just in another cycle where it's more visible.
Not to mention the haters are more emboldened. Your buddy King Mango has a lot to do with that.

There is an art to use public protest to improve the lot of the people. There is a time and place for everything. Still, if Marcon is smart, he needs to find a way to reengage people and provide reassurance that reminds them it's about the long play. That's the one thing the last guy at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave I felt didn't do. People were too caught up in the newness of some of the things surrounding him, but I don't know if he was really able to get some of the people who went for .45 afterwards to view things from the long play.

He's a mouthpiece that those who peddle hate were happy that fell from the sky to give carte blanche to be more overt with their tactics. I hold no love for some of these old farts in government who embraced him because they wanted to push through certain things and we're held back by "civility". You only hear them complain now whenever he "strays too far off script" .

#brownaintstupid .

I know what you mean I just don't know how we keep getting here.

Is it lack of education or something else? Experiences??

Is ignorance this bliss?

We have only one world. We are one race, the genetic differences between are minute.

The only real difference between us is culture and possibly religion. Can that really be it?

Evolution gave us big brains unfortunately a lot of people don't use them.
